The Belle Plaine Area DFL meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the Belle Plaine Library
What's Happening
Fall has been a busy time for the Belle Plaine DFL.
Our September meeting date fell on the day of the Jordan Heimatfest Parade. A contingent from Belle Plaine joined with the
Scott County/SD35 DFLers to march in the parade in memory of Pat Callahan. Pat, a long-time DFL activist and officer, passed
away suddenly in late August. There were over 40 DFLers marching in the parade. Those from Belle Plaine group included Chair
Cary Coop, Associate Chair Pam Anderson, AA Officer Chris Farmer-Lies, Jeanette Gloege, Joanne & Tom Devine, Phoebe Einerston,
Kathy Farmer and Tim Lies.
On October 1, Cary Coop, David Bly and Lois Lynch kicked off
the Welcome Wagon project, visiting nine new homes in Belle Plaine. Resident responses were positive with most expressing
surprise at being welcomed to Belle Plaine.
The fall Adopt-a-Highway pickup was scheduled
for October 22 with coordinator Pam Anderson organizing a bag lunch after wards.
